New measurement of the mass of milky way and distribution of dark matter halo
The new results on the mass of the Galaxy are described in a paper titled "The Milky Way's Circular Velocity Curve to 60 kpc and an Estimate of the Dark Matter Halo Mass from Kinematics of 2400 SDSS Blue Horizontal Branch Stars," will appear this fall (2008) in The Astrophysical Journal.
